In writing a history of the coastal region of Georgia from colonial beginnings to 1930, the author drew on material from maps, letters, probate records, marriage records, and Glynn County public records. Glynn County records include the organization and description of the original parishes of St. James, St. David, and St. Patrick; members of the General Assembly of Georgia from Glynn County; militia records, 1790-1794; tax returns, 1790-1794; jury lists; marriage records, 1818-1865; wills, etc., 1792-1840; and cemetery records from Christ Church, Frederica, and Oak Grove, Brunswick. Biographical material is abundant and the volume is thoroughly indexed.
