Orig. pub. 1967. Reprinted 1987. (v), 177 pp., index. Item #126

Nash County, formerly a part of early Edgecombe County, North Carolina, was created in 1777. This volume of abstracts of wills complements four volumes of early Edgecombe records by Ruth Smith Williams and Margarette Glenn Griffin. Will Book I, as found in the Nash County Court House, Nashville, is in reality a typed and bound copy of the original Will Books I, II, III, and IV. No personal property is included in these abstracts, but descriptions of land appear where available. Abstracts give name of testator, names of family members and other legatees, executors, and witnesses. Approximately 3300 names appear in the index.
