This reprint edition of the History, Addenda, and Records of Midway Church brings together in one volume three publications relating to the story of this historical church: History of the Midway Congregational Church, Liberty County, Georgia, published in 1903 by James Stacy; the Addenda to this history by Elizabeth Walker Quarterman, which brought the history up to date as of 1951; and the Published Records of Midway Church, Vol. 1, originally published in 1894, also by James Stacy. The original volumes are reproduced and a complete surname index to all three sections was prepared for this edition. Known as "the Society settled upon Midway and Newport in Georgia," Midway Church had an importance which far exceeded its size. Numerous families in Georgia and throughout the entire country can trace their ancestry to members of this church. The Records contains registries of marriages, births, baptisms, and deaths. The History contains sketches of ministers and their families and genealogies of important families.
